The main challenge was segmenting the living room open space on the first floor, but also keeping it open, well lit and airy. These spaces were also meant to respond to social activities, both inside the family and together with guests: areas dedicated to visitors, play spaces and storage areas. All spaces needed to be both separate and open.
The functional needs and aesthetic desires were resolved through a series of custom furniture pieces adapted to the layout. These pieces were used as screens between spaces, storage areas and backgrounds specific to different functions.
We aimed to create a domestic ambiance, homey, comfy and warm, with spaces that children would want to explore and places that help in creating long-lasting memories.
