NESTING – DecoDays 2023 Competition Winning Proposal

The image that materialized in our imagination was that of a family of birds nesting in the reeds on the bank of a water in the bright sun of a clear morning.

This image led us to focus on elements with rounded geometries dressed in organic textures. It also determined a palette of natural, earthy colors with accents of warm shades; the primary contrast we relied on was black and white, as a background for the natural colors that determined the rest of the project. We emphasized these features with warm light from white and gold fixtures reminiscent of the sun.

A final manifestation of the concept image from which we started was an accentuation of the destinations of the space through different forms of verticality. The living area is flanked by vertical curtains, reminiscent of the mentioned reeds, developed over the entire height of the space; the dining area and the relaxation corner receive privacy and warmth through the wooden lattice suspended above these areas.
